Zachary C. Crider
Zachary C. Crider, Sr, 67 of Rock Island, Il passed away on June 25, 2021 at home surrounded by family. He was born April 15, 1954 in Quincy, IL the son of Colonel and Ruth (Conn) Crider, Sr.
He graduated from Quincy High School, class of 1972 where he excelled in sports and was later inducted into the Quincy Sports Hall of Fame. He worked at John Deere and Alcoa. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family.
He is survived by his spouse of 48 years Doris, children: Tamra (Louis) Holmes, Zachary (Emillie), Crider Jr., Nicholas (Angela) Crider, grandchildren: Jasmine (Jordan) Flynn, Azariah Young, and Zaria Crider; mother, Ruth Crider, sisters: Donna Briggins, Adrienne (John) Oliver, Cynthia (Jewell) Jones and Michéle (Hermann) Crider-Resinger; brothers: Colonel (Lisa) Crider Jr, Raefeal Crider, Stefan (Valerie) Crider and Kevin Crider, a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his father Colonel Crider, Sr. and sister Rosemary Crider Moore.
Services will be Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 12:00 noon at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 until the time of the services at noon. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Zach was one of the nicest people I ever met..Played football with him starting in the 7th grade RIP my brother will see you on the other side
Zach iam sorry to hear about your passing. I really enjoyed working with you for years. We had alot of laughs. And lots of long days on them autos and Heat treats. Talking about how much we hurt. Talking about them grands. You loved them so much. Condolences to your wife and kids as well. I was hoping to run into you like my sister did. She told me she use to see you. No more pain. Dear Family, Zach as I can remember from HS, was a great guy, so kind, fun to be with then, but I had not seen him since. He must had been a good family man too. I remember his parents too and an aunt. Having been gone from quincy a very long time, I had appreciated all the good old friends. Please know I’ll pray for his soul but his family too. Dear Zach I just found out you passed. You are now an ancestor waiting for the rest of us to catch up. Many of us that know you well are close on your heels. So, prepare the Lord for the party we’ll have when we reunite! Remember sitting next to me in Mr. Nichols Geometry class comparing our bruises from doing hit and role with Harry Little our sophomore year? Remember that time in junior high i discovered I didn’t have a towel you let me use yours after you had already dried off”. Remember the Rock Island game when Jim’s shoulder was separated and I got to play with you and Ray…you were my biggest cheering section then; maybe ever. since many of my friends and my family are buried in Greenmount they may have to institute a new afterhours quiet ordinance for the spirits once I get there too. Zach the living really miss you. But we also know you are in the Lord’s care and are blessed…you and Ray always were, as the Colonel’s kids. God bless you and your whole family
