Wayne Ray Starman
Wayne Ray Starman, age 76, of Quincy Health Care and Senior Living, died on May 8, 2026. He was born on May 14, 1949 in Quincy, Illinois the son of Ray and Dorothy (Rabe) Starman.
Wayne married Nancy Ann Mitchell on July 4, 1973. She preceded him in death on
February 15, 2017. He worked as a farmer and also a truck driver over the years. He served in the Illinois National Guard. He had attended Faith Journey Church.
He loved fishing and sometimes golf.
He is survived by:
TWO CHILDREN: Jesse Ray Starman (Eileen) of Huntersville, NC and Casey Lee Starman (Gisella) of Orlando, FL.
THREE GRANDCHILDREN: Cooper Starman and Callen Starman; and Sabrina Starman.
SIBLINGS: Karen Taylor
Nieces, nephews and other relatives survive.
In addition to his wife, Wayne was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation rites have been accorded and no formal services are planned at this time. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Wayne and I go back to the old Ursa grade school days. We were class mates through the 5th grade. We run around some after high school and attended his wedding as his best man. I always enjoyed his positive attitude about life.
I had the pleasure of taking care of Wayne (Spike) at the Senior Center here in Quincy. He was a wonderful man & very respectful. He was always so thoughtful to the people around him. I loved listening to the stories he told us. Sending prayers to Jesse & Casey & their families. R.I.P. Spike.
