Walter ‘Mustard’ Thompson

Walter ‘Mustard’ Thompson, age 52, of Quincy, died on Sunday, March 10, 2024 in Jacksonville Memorial Hospital. He was born on October 18, 1971 in Chicago, IL the son of Eddie Clay and Alicia Thompson. He married Katie Lambert on February 16, 2018. She survives.

Walter was a self-employed entrepreneur who did retail sales and participated in auctions.

He was a member of the Cathedral of Worship.

In addition to his wife Katie, Walter is also survived by:
HIS FATHER: Eddie Clay
CHILDREN: Grayce, Jacobe, Marlee, Morgan and Desiree.
SIBLINGS: Freeman Thompson, Faustina Edwards, Alicia Kostelecky (Aaron) and Leneaea Clay.
Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Walter was preceded in death by his mother and an aunt Kathleen.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Family and Friends are invited to a Celebration of Walter’s life that will take place on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Cathedral of Worship.
Memorials may be made to the family to help with expenses. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

    WOW This is breaking to hear he was a legand Walter will always be remembered as a legend always had a idea to put into action he will be missed and thoughts and prayers to the family which I knew quite well.

    So sorry for your loss. I first encountered Walter through the Awana program at Calvary Church. He was always polite and helpful. I enjoyed talking with him then and later in life as well.

    My condolences and thoughts are with you and the family. Walter and I were friends for years. My sister and I always called him Mustard. He will be missed.
