Tony Lee Schlueter, age 74, of Quincy, died on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on January 24, 1952 in Quincy, the son of Dale Ray and Ellen Carline (Bowman) Schlueter.

Tony served in the United States Army.

He was an artist and loved to paint. Tony worked at KFC for many years as well as US Cooler before his retirement.

He married Doris J. “Sissy’ Payne on March 12, 1990 in Quincy. She preceded him in death on June 30, 2023.

He is survived :
A BROTHER: Tracy Schlueter
A NIECE: Kendra Goodall
GREAT NIECE AND GREAT NEPHEWS: Haisley, Carson, and Jayce.
Other relatives and friends survive.

In addition to his wife, Tony was also preceded in death by brothers Terry Schlueter and Todd Schlueter.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at 10:30 at the Sunset Cemetery of the Illinois Veterans Home with military rites conducted at the cemetery by the United States Army Honor Detail and the American Legion Post #37 Honor Detail. There is no visitation but family and friends are invited to the graveside services. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
