Susan J. Ames
Susan J. Ames, age 62, of Quincy, died Saturday, April 22, 2023 at her home.
She was born September 13, 1960 in Quincy, the daughter of Robert Lee and Edna Pearl Kindhart Kelley.
She is survived by her children, Jason Owen of Quincy, Bryan (fiancé, Shelby Martin) Ames of Palmyra, MO and Lauren Ames of Quincy; fourteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Marty (Kelly) Jackson and Rodney (Traci) Kelley, all of Quincy; one sister, Robin Kelley of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Bobby Kelley.
Ms. Ames was a graduate of Quincy High School and was employed by Quincy Public Schools for over 20 years, as a Family Coordinator and Child Educator, retiring in 2018. Susan loved to play bingo, but more than anything she cherished her family and the time she spent with them.
A funeral service will be held 1:30 PM Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Duker and Haugh Funeral Home with burial following at Greenmount Cemetery. Family will meet friends from 12:30 to 1:30 PM prior to services at the funeral home on Saturday. Memorials are suggested to the family to assist in offsetting the cost of final expenses.
