Stephen “Steve” R. Bringaze
Stephen “Steve” R. Bringaze, age 74, of Quincy, IL, died on Saturday, March 7, 2026, in Blessing Hospital. He was born June 9, 1951 in Quincy, IL, the son of Robert and June (Ranney) Bringaze. Steve married Colleen Whiston on November 11, 1983. She survives.
Steve was a graduate of Christian Brothers High School. He worked professionally as a flooring installer. He was a member SSBC, enjoyed shooting trap at the West Quincy Gun Club, and was an avid fisherman.
In addition to his wife Colleen, Steve is also survived by his daughter Lacey Coulter. Grandchildren: Brantley Coulter and Garrison Coulter. Siblings: Tammi Buckner (Jeff), Greg Bringaze, Christine Bringaze, and Marty Bringaze. Surviving in-laws include: Lenore Singleton (Gary), Veronica Thomas (Joe), Paula Heimer, Tony Whiston (Shan), Tom Whiston (Nancy), and Tim Whiston (Sherri). Many nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Jan Carroll, two brothers-in-law: Bobbie Heimer and Bruce Whiston, and a nephew Justin Buckner.
Cremation rites have been accorded. At this time, no formal services are planned. Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life for Steve at South Side Boat Club on Sunday, March 15, 2026, from 12-3 PM. Memorials may be made to Lacey Coulter for the grandchildren’s education fund or to the donor’s choice. Service arrangements are with the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home.
