Roy Vonderheide, age 90, of Fowler, Illinois, died on May 12, 2026 in Jacksonville, IL. He was born on April 30, 1936 in Quincy , the son of Rome and Agnes (Peters) Vonderheide. He married Joan M. Westhaus on September 17, 1960. She preceded him in death on March 16, 2020.

Roy worked at Huck Fixture Co for the majority of his career. He served in the United States Army. Roy was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting and the outdoors, playing cards and was a St. Louis Cardinal Fan. In recent years, he was also a fan of Patrick Mahomes.

Roy is survived by
FOUR CHILDREN: Greg Vonderheide of Fowler; Cheryl Shultz of Staunton, IL; Cathy Hultz and her husband Ron of Quincy; and Peggy Pulliam and her husband Brian of Wildwood, MO.
EIGHT GRANDCHILDREN: Amber Shultz; Brandt Shultz (Valentina), Brooke Hultz (Luisana Aguilar) , Zachary Hultz, Nicholas Hultz, Joshua Pulliam, Madison Pulliam and Megan Pulliam.
SISTER: Margie Mast
SISTERS-IN-LAW: Patti Vonderheide and Carolyn Vonderheide.
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

In addition to his wife, Roy was also preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Virgil Vonderheide, Norbert Vonderheide and his wife Maxine and Ferdie Vonderheide; and a brother in law: Joe Mast.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 11:00 AM in St. Peter Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a local food bank of the donor’s choice. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
