Ronald Holtshouser

Ronald Holtshouser, age 75, of Quincy, IL, died on Thursday June 18, 2026 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on March 19, 1951 in Quincy, a son of Eugene and Leona (Dooley) Holtshouser. He married Jean Schulze on September 20, 1969. She survives.

Ron worked at Quincy Compressor for 45 years until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking. Above all he enjoyed his years at “The Farm” with his wife, Jean. While he was a man of few words, Ron was always there for those who needed him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Dale W. Holtshouser, Jeff M. (Amy Bernholtz) Holtshouser. Grandchildren: Jordan and Violet, Ruby, and Keller Holtshouser.
Sister: Linda Kane. Nieces: Stephanie Sedelmeier; Candy Bartley and Lynne French.
Nephews: Brad Schulze; Riley Kane; Raymond Holtshouser. Great-niece and nephew: Sydney and Cooper Sedelmeier. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Franklin Holtshouser, and a niece Jennifer Kane.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A visitation will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm with a memorial service to follow at the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Fishing for Freedom. The Duker and Haugh Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

    This man is one of the best person I ever knew. He helped my wife and me get our lives started 40 years ago and was like a dad to me when I was a kid. RIP Ronnie I will severely miss you. God bless you and your family

    Jeannie my heart is with u its been long time Ronnie was a childhood friend i would never forget this man saved my baby when he was a teen that was a great man and person never forget him we did many things together growing up . jeannie u got the best . u take care u can do it GOD WILL LEAD U
