Richard Arlan White

Richard Arlan White, age 88, of Quincy, IL, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2026, in Sunset Home. He was born on February 3, 1938, in Canton, MO, and was a son to Henry Clay and Virginia (Brinkley) White. Richard married Mary Katherine Koch on June 10, 1967, in St. John the Baptist Church in Quincy. She preceded him in death.

Richard was most at home on a farm. He grew up on the family homestead and worked there until moving to Quincy. For many years he was employed by Moorman Manufacturing Company but found his way back to the farm happily working for Speckhart Farms until his retirement.

Richard was hard-working, loyal and was known for offering a helping hand to friends and family alike. He enjoyed gardening and socializing with others. Richard was fascinated by new technology and loved his computer and cell phone. He enjoyed texting family and friends, sharing and printing pictures of their accomplishments and adventures.

He was a proud father and grandfather. He valued education and enjoyed attending all his grandchildren’s graduations and watching a few online. Richard was kind, always smiling and happiest surrounded by his family.

Richard is survived by his children: Suzanne (Steve) O’Quinn, Tony (Kimberly) White, and Sarah (Ryan) Heidenreich; Grandchildren: Zach O’Quinn and Katie O’Quinn; Natalie White and Alex White; and Emily Heidenreich.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from noon until 1:00 p.m. at the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Quincy Children’s Museum. Service arrangements are with the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home.
