Pamela Jean Chandler, age 66, of Fairfield, Iowa, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2026, with her mother, Wanda, sitting by her side.

Pam was born on June 10, 1960, in Quincy, Illinois, Pamela was the daughter of Lawrence and Wanda Luker. Her life was shaped by strong family ties, a quick wit, and a steady love for the people closest to her. She attended Quincy University and John Wood Community College, and later shared her warmth and care with her community as an in-home daycare provider. After living on the East Coast for many years, she carried a practical spirit and resilience into every season of her life.

Those who knew Pamela will remember her as wonderfully stubborn and bullheaded—a testament to her strong heart and determined mind. She was deeply loving, generous, and warm. Blessed with an unmistakable sense of humor, she could strike up a conversation with anyone and absolutely talk their ear off, blending sarcasm, warmth, and laughter in a way that made everyone feel seen.

Pamela found comfort and strength in her Christian faith and enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, such as painting her nails, watching true crime shows, cooking, and caring for animals. Above all, she deeply loved her friends and cherished the time they spent together.

Family meant everything to Pamela. Her devotion to her family was one of the clearest reflections of who she was, and she carried them in her heart always.

She is survived by: Mother: Wanda Luker of Rockwall, TX.
Children: Her daughter, Brittany Hanlin (David Sherrill) of Kahoka, MO.
Brother: Randy Luker (Stacy) of Rockwall, TX.
Grandchildren: Hannah Hanlin, Lexi Sherrill, Paige Sherrill, Micheal Sherrill, and Maverick Sherrill, all of Kahoka, MO.
Niece: Elise Luker of Rockwall, TX.
Nephews: Gregory Luker of Springfield, IL; Brendon Luker of Clinton, IA; and Lawrence Reed of Quincy, IL.
Numerous beloved cousins and a circle of close, good friends also survive.

Pamela was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence “Larry” Luker.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 from 10:00 AM until the time of the services at 11:00. Memorials may be made to the family to help with expenses. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
