Michael Joseph Powers, “Mike,” age 71, of Coatsburg, IL, formerly of Quincy, died on Monday, January 26, 2026 in his home. He was born on March 28, 1954 in Quincy, to Joseph and Dolly (Saylor) Powers.

Mike was a graduate of Quincy Senior High School and Indian Hills Community College. He was a computer programmer for a variety of companies in Iowa and Wisconsin.

Mike loved his family, was an avid NASCAR fan, was always tinkering with his computers, and absolutely loved his cat, Bud. He was a kind-hearted and loving person.

Mike is survived by his daughter Tara Lasley (Dan), brother-in-law Mike Fonck, nieces Angie Nixon (Chad Weber) and Stefanie Yates (Adam), one great-niece Maggie Nixon, two grandsons Tyler Warchol (Stefani) and Landon Kenyon, four great-grandchildren, and his good friends Pam Thorton, Gary and Barb Turpin, and Warren Huseman.

Mike was preceded by his parents and a sister, Cynthia Fonck.

Cremation rites have been accorded; no formal services are planned at this time. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
