Michael David Laws, 51, of Quincy Il, passed away September 19, 2026 at Blessing Hospital.
He was born on January 1,1975 in Quincy, IL to Linda and David (Dave) Laws. He met his wife, Shanna, April 28, 2006, and married April 28,2018. They always told everyone they both spent a lifetime looking for someone with easy to remember birthdays and the same favorite sports teams- the STL Cardinals and the Dallas Cowboys.

He graduated from Quincy Notre Dame in 1993, then recording school at Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL.
Mike worked for Harris Broadcast (GatesAir) for 28 years being an incredible asset and positive influence on those around. He was very passionate about doing things properly and always willing to help others. He held a number of roles in the service department in his 28 years, most recently being promoted to Service Support Supervisor, Parts & Repair.

Michael (Mike) was known throughout his life for his great love of music, being the rock for his family and genuinely great person. Mike started at a young age attending rock concerts with his friends then teaching himself how to play bass, playing in different bands and making lifelong friends along the way. His love of music continued through life attending multiple concerts with his wife throughout their life together then introducing their children to the experience of live music, listening to and talking for hours about music with his wife and his band brother, Jason Peters.

Mike was always so proud of his family, sharing with others their accomplishments, plans for the future or exciting endeavors they had embarked on. He enjoyed every minute of sporting events for his children, talking about accomplishments of his mother and wife and playing board games at holidays with the family.

He is survived by his mother, Linda; his wife, Shanna, three children- Joey Laws (Anna), Nathan Laws and Keri Eckles- Laws and sister, Christy McKoy. He is also survived by several extended family members and friends who were considered family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dave.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Michael’s life will take place at a later date. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
