Mary Sue Lenz

Mary Sue Lenz, age 71, of Liberty, IL, passed away on Monday, April 30, 2024 in her home. She was born on January 18, 1953 in Quincy, IL, a daughter of Logan and Hazel (Bryant) Alexander.

Mary graduated from Liberty High School in 1971. Later in life, she graduated from the John Wood Community College Agricultural Program. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse until she returned to John Wood Community College to work in the Agricultural Department until her retirement.

Mary is survived by her children: Amy (Bent) Vickers of Liberty, IL, Tom (Samantha) Bent of Warsaw, IL, and David (Jessica) Bent of Liberty, IL; Grandchildren: Ashton, Sarah and Seth Bent; Zachary Brothers, Kenzie Brothers, Jerzey Brothers; and Layne Bent and Mayce Bent; One brother: Bill (Shirley) Alexander; and a close friend: Diane Humke. One great-grandchild is on the way and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, a son Alexander Bent, and her sister Patricia McIntire.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at 6:00 PM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Quincy Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 3:00 to 6:00 PM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to JWCC Agricultural Education Center.

    So sorry for your loss Amy, Dave, and Tom. Mary was a wonderful woman. I enjoyed working with her and getting to know her. She taught me a lot. Mary was a very wise woman.
