Mary Reckers of Quincy, died on August 13, 2025 at Blessing Hospital at the age of 76 after confounding her doctors for years and proudly exceeding their prognosis expectations.

Born on June 22, 1949 in Quincy, IL to George Arthur ‘Art’ and Mildred Margaret (Terwelp) Zehnle. Mary worked in a variety of industries and made many friends throughout her life in and outside of work. She married Robert J. ‘Bob’ Reckers in 1976, who survives her.

In addition to her husband, Mary is also survived by three children: Robert S. ‘Rob’ Reckers, Denise Poepping, and Daniel J. Reckers. She is also survived by the children of her deceased brother whom she raised as her own children after his death: Fr. Daren Zehnle and David Zehnle. She is also survived by one grandson, Matthew Zehnle.

Mary was preceded in death by her son, Brian W. Reckers, her own parents, and her brother, George William (Bill) Zehnle.

Mary had a wicked sense of humor, worked hard and always did her best. She was a joy to all who knew her. She was loved and will be missed very much.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Francis Catholic Church. Inurnment in Calvary Cemetery. A Memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2025 from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
