Mary Ellen Yonker, age 79, of Quincy, died on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Country View Care Center in Macomb, IL.

Mary was born September 19, 1946 in Riverside, CA, a daughter of Robert J. and Mary L. (Thompson) Hagen.

Mary married former husband Richard F. Smith Sr. on March 29, 1965, in Arizona. To their union was a son, Richard F. Smith., and a daughter Christine K. Smith. After Mary’s first marriage she later married Danny L. Yonker Sr. in Springfield on April 26, 1971. Danny Sr. Preceded her in death on May 19, 2006. To their union was a son, Danny Yonker Jr.

Mary was of the Christian faith. Some of Mary’s favorite activities included crocheting, collecting angel figurines, arts and crafts.

She is survived by her children: Richard F. Smith Jr.; Christine K. Smith Hickman; Danny Yonker Jr.; five grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation rites have been accorded. No formal services are planned. Service arrangements are with the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home.
