Marvin M. Mast

Marvin M. Mast, age 87, of Quincy, died on Monday, September 8, 2025 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on July 11, 1938 in Quincy the son of Matthew and Dorothy (Winters) Mast. Marvin was a graduate of Christian Brothers High School. He married Delores ‘Dee’ DeKloe on October 14, 1976. She preceded him in death on October 17, 2020.

Marvin was a machinist at Kuester Tool and Die Company for many years. He was also a member of the Volunteer Civil Defense. He was a Scout Leader for Troop 22. Marvin was a lifetime member of St. Francis Catholic Church. He was also a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge. Marvin enjoyed camping and fishing. He was also an avid fan of wrestling. However, family time was the most important to him, especially time spent with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marvin is survived by:
TEN CHILDREN: Kevin Mast (Candy) of Quincy; Constance Patre (Jeff) of Palmyra, MO; Tina Taylor (Kenneth) of Peoria Heights, IL; Tania Mast (Eddie Miller) of Mossville, IL; Mark Shaner (Paula) of Peoria, IL; Trent Lane (Tish Emery) of Greenwood, IN; Kimberly Pratt (Dennis) of Payson; Jeffrey Mast (Dawn) of Rockwood, TN; Heather Kaylor of Quincy and Cynthia Walker (Robert) of Quincy.
A BROTHER: William G. Mast.
Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a great-great grandchild, many nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

In addition to his wife, Marvin was also preceded in death by his parents, sons Gregory Mast and Damion Lane, a grandson David K. Kirkpatrick II, and sons in law, Scott Kaylor and Dale Uhland.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 9:30 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 10:00 AM in St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Catholic Church. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
