Marian Catherine Timmerwilke

Marian Catherine Timmerwilke, age 100, of Quincy, died on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, in her home. She was born on December 31, 1922, in Quincy, IL, the daughter of Henry and Alice (Geising) Steinkamp. Marian married Donald Timmerwilke on September 30, 1944, in St. Franics Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on March 11, 1970.

Marian was employed for twenty years at the former Little Folks children’s store in the Quincy Mall. She was a graduate of Quincy Notre Dame and a lifelong member of St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church.

Marian’s favorites pastimes included playing cards with her family and friends and going out to eat.

Marian is survived by her children: Martin (Vicki) Timmerwilke,
David (Brenda) Timmerwilke, Mike (Pat) Timmerwilke, Cindy (Rick) Rose and Sandra (Steve) Donald; fourteen grandchildren: John, Jeff, Angel, Ricky, Joey, Amy, Chris, Tasha, Clair, Kelli, Crystal, Karlie, Misty, and Allen; thirty-one great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Donna Steinkamp; and many nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald (Margaret), Ralph (Hilda), Kenneth (JoAnn) and Paul, a son, Steven and a granddaughter, Angelique, and a daughter-in-law, Rita.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, October 23, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at St. Francis. Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
