Kevin Daniel Kain
Kevin Daniel Kain, 75, of Simsbury, CT passed away unexpectedly on March 11, 2026. Four years ago, Kevin and his loving wife, Sandy, moved to Connecticut from California where they lived for over 40 years to be closer to their grandchildren, who he adored.
Kevin spent more than 30 years with United Airlines. He loved to spend his retirement years traveling with his wife, Sandy. They recently trained for, and completed the Camino de Santiago in Spain, a tremendous accomplishment! Kevin was extremely active in his churches and loved working with the Cursillo movement, first in California, and in recent years, in Connecticut. He was also active in his community as Past President of the American Canyon Kiwanis and as Director of KHOPE International. Kevin also enjoyed spending time volunteering with church outreach programs for the most vulnerable. Kevin was a lifelong sports fan who, depending on the time of year, could be found cheering for his favorite teams; the Giants, the 49ers, and UConn Men and Women’s Basketball.
Kevin graduated from Culver-Stockton College in 1973 where he was a social affiliate of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. Kevin was also a member of the Culver Stockton Alumni Board from 2016 to 2022. Kevin had great memories of his time “on the hill” and he enjoyed returning as often as possible for homecoming.
Kevin is predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Ruth Kain, his brother, Timothy Kain and his parents-in-law, Ralph and Mary Timpe. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Sandy (originally from Quincy), his son, Matthew Kain and his wife Jackie Paul of Avon, CT, his brother, Peter Kain and his wife Dianne of Deer Park, IL, and his pride and joy, his three grandchildren, Tabitha, Marjorie, and Desmond. He will be missed by his extended family, Charlotte Miller, Helen and Wayne Zimmerman, Ralph and Linda Timpe, John and Debbie Timpe, and several nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews.
A Memorial Mass at Holy Family Catholic Church in American Canyon, CA will be held on April 8 at 11:00 AM.
A Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church in Quincy, IL will be held on April 15 at 11:00, with visitation starting at 10:30.
