Kecia C. Watt
Kecia C. Watt, age 57, of Quincy, died on Friday, August 21, 2026 in Blessing Hospital. She was born on November 6, 1968 in LaBelle, MO. She married Stevie ‘Bear’ Watt. He preceded her in death. Kecia worked as a CNA in the Quincy area over the years.
Kecia was a dedicated CNA who truly cared for the people she served. She was known for taking extra time to sit and chat with her residents, making sure they felt seen, heard, and cared for. She always gave extremely good care and was often complimented for the extra TLC she showed to others.
Kecia loved spending time with her family and really enjoyed get-togethers and family gatherings. She was always making everyone laugh and knew how to bring warmth and fun wherever she went. In her spare time, she enjoyed searching old records and tracing her family tree. She also had a little detective in her—if there was something to be found out, Kecia was going to get to the bottom of it! You might as well tell her the truth, because sooner or later, she was going to figure it out anyway.
Above all else, Kecia was a devoted mother. Her children and grandchildren were her world, and she loved them deeply.
She is survived by:
HER MOTHER: Louella Johnson
CHILDREN: Shantiya Abbey Payton (Priness), Tameshea Humphrey (Terry) and De-Jon Humphrey.
GRANDCHILDREN: De-Zon McCaston, Christopher McCaston, Melah Humphrey, Kaylen Thomas, Avah Humphrey and Kaniya Thomas.
SIBLINGS: Daniel Wayne Clay (Sarah), Deandrea ‘Nonnie’ Dickson (Cortez), William Christopher Abbey, Natasha Abbey, Joseph Abbey, Rico Abbey (Brandy) and Kayla Durkin (Ervin).
Numerous other family, nieces and nephews, including Latoshia ‘Shae’ Tipsord and Shandall Hickman whom Kecia considered as her own children, also survive.
Kecia was preceded in death by her father William Abbey, step-father John Johnson and a brother Kevin Shelton.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 1:00 PM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 12:00 Noon until the time of the services. The Duker and Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
A true woman and was loved by many been knowing Kesha for many years and will be truly missed by many may you rest in peace no more suffering or pain god bless you my friend

I remember when we were younger we’d have our own neighborhood track and field. Kecia was so quick!!! I could never win against her.

Kecia was a childhood friend of mine. She was always a sweetheart and we enjoyed many sidewalk races in the north end. She always won! She is a sweet spirit and I pray that she rests in peace 🙏🏽.
Keisha was a person that can make you laugh and as long as I’ve known her she is a good person and now she’s in heaven with you Jesus and she don’t have to hurt her being pain no more prayers for her family and we will see her one day again in heaven.

It was very rare that we both had the same name given to us , “CAKE ” my grandfather named me that also when I was a toddler, and I will be 53 soon. You have been taken from us too soon, rest now!!
