Judith K. (Judy) McElhoe, age 81, of Quincy died on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, in Sunset Home.

Judy was born in Quincy, IL on September 10, 1945, the daughter of Leora (Lee) Johnson. She married Jerry Lee McElhoe on July 20, 1963, in Quincy’s Saint Mary Catholic Church, he preceded her in death.

Judy retired from West Central IL Case Coordination Unit as an assistant director.

Judy was a graduate of Quincy High School and completed two years at JWCC’s School of Nursing. She was of the Catholic faith. Judy was an avid reader; she loved laughing and joking with her friends and family.

Judy very much appreciated people who are quick-witted like herself. She was always on the go and enjoyed living a busy life.

Survivors include her son Randy and his wife Sandy McElhoe of Quincy. Other survivors include a sister-in-law, several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, two sisters, Sandra Mounce and her husband Wilfred, and Beverly Johnson.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Quincy Senior Center Elevator Fund.
