Jordan Thomas Peterson

Jordan Thomas Peterson was born on September 22, 1989 in Quincy, and died in his home on May 2, 2023. He was the son of John and Jane Peterson of Quincy.

Jordan is survived by his four children: Witlee Higdon, age 12 (mother Tasha Irvin), Wyat, age 10 and Wesleigh, age 7 Peterson (mother Taelor Sheets), and Bristol Hurley, age 3 (mother Deana Hurley). He is also survived by his mother Jane Bozarth Peterson, his sister Sarah Schaller (Dalton), his nieces Aria, Casey, and Tate Schaller. He is further survived by two half brothers, Nolan Ryan and Nick Hawley, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He graduated from Quincy Notre Dame in 2008. He previously worked at Knapheide Manufacturing Company and most recently at Martin Tractor, Inc. He was of the Catholic faith.

He started scouting at St Peter’s School at an early age. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 2006. He was a member of the Order of the Arrow. He participated in the Philmont Trek in New Mexico. He was proud to become a Scout Master like his father for St. Peter’s, Troop 5.

Jordan enjoyed all outdoor activities with family and friends.

Jordan was preceded in death by his father John Peterson, his grandparents, Edward and Elaine Bozarth and Louise and Paul Peterson and an Aunt Jill Bozarth.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 8, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations for the funeral expenses are appreciated or donations can be made to American Diabetes Association. Messages may be shared online at www.dukerandhaugh.com.

    Jane and Family,
    I’m so sorry to hear of Jordan’s passing. I remember him from St. Peter’s school and in church. Jordan went to school and grew up with my daughter Kylie. May his memories hold in your heart forever as he now rests in the arms of Jesus.

    Jane, So sorry to read about Jordan, was just thinking about him after seeing you recently. Remember him from Diabetic teaching many years ago. Losing a son so young is not something we like to think about! Keeping you any your family in my prayers!
