Janice R. Wiewel

Janice R. Wiewel, age 75, of Quincy, died on Friday, March 24, 2023 in her home. Janice was born on April 12, 1947 in Quincy, the daughter of Richard and Juanita (Ketterman) Gurley.

Janice was employed at WisPak for many years. After her retirement she enjoyed riding the bus with the children as a driver’s assistant for Quincy Public School.

She enjoyed her many bus trips with friends, vacationing in Ocean City, Maryland and visiting the Lake of the Ozarks where a trip to Backwater Jacks for the grouper fingers was a must.

Janice loved her family and friends, playing cards and big family meals. She loved to bake and would deliver cookie trays to the people she loved especially at Christmas time. You could count on a gift and large family meal for every holiday.

She was well known for visiting and decorating the graves of many family members and friends.

Janice loved the Lord, accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior, teaching Sunday School for many years. Above all she was a loving person with a beautiful heart and lived her life for others.

Janice is survived by:
THREE CHILDREN: Richard Frese; Paula Main and her husband Bub, and Sam Wiewel.
TWO GRANDCHILDREN: Chase (Megan) Main and Laken Frese.
TWO GREATGRANDCHILDREN: Charlie and Lyla Main.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Bluff Hall Cemetery near Fall Creek. The visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Union Congregational Church or Special Education Department at Chaddock. Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
