Gregory T. Stark
Gregory T. Stark, 63, of Quincy, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026.
Born on August 18, 1962, Greg was a lifelong resident of Quincy. He was a true jack of all trades who took great pride in working with his hands. Whether he was building, repairing, or simply tinkering on a project, Greg enjoyed figuring out how things worked. Two projects he was especially proud of he called “the whatchamacallit?” and “spare parts”. If you saw Greg, he likely had his two canine co-pilots with him, Booblah and Boy. He was a lover of animals and cared deeply for his dogs. He was known for his big heart, strong sense of humor and his ability to make those around him smile with his one liners. He was very proud of his children and never missed an opportunity to brag on them. If you were lucky you got to hear Greg play the harmonica to one of his favorite songs.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald “Buck” Stark and Rita Stark; his sister, Teresa Pillsbury; and his niece, Alexis Pillsbury.
He is survived by his daughters, Meredith (Stark) Fleming and her husband, Stetzen Fleming, and Taylor (Stark) Jackson and her husband, Chad Jackson; his stepson, Corey Hudelson and his wife, Jennifer; his stepson, Chad Hudelson; his former wife, Lori Stark, with whom he shared 29 years of marriage with; his siblings, Connie Deming, Tina Wingerter, Joey Stark, Kevin Stark, and John Stark; his cherished grandchildren and great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family members; and many friends whose lives he touched.
Greg will be remembered for his sense of humor, his willingness to help others, and his ability to fix or build just about anything. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. We find peace in knowing he is enjoying a sunset down by the river listening to music and playing his harmonica.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made to the Western Illinois Veterinary Clinic in honor of Greg Stark.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Service arrangements are with the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home.
