Gerald Lee Galvin Schwarz
Gerald Lee Galvin Schwarz, age 46, of Quincy IL., died at home on December 17, 2025. He was born on January 18, 1979, in Quincy, the son of Gerald and Maureen (nee Williams) Schwarz. He was a graduate of Quincy Senior High School where he excelled academically and with the QHS Blue Devil Boys Golf Team that was inducted into the Quincy Blue Devil Hall of Fame. Following graduation, he pursued and excelled in his culinary arts career. Throughout his life, he enjoyed music, art, and traveling domestically and overseas. His kindness, sense of humor, and laughter are deeply missed by his family, friends, and his dog, Lola.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sister, Eilisia Schwarz, his uncles, John Paul Schwarz (Jacqueline) and Ray Cipriano; great-aunt Doris Youell; cousins, Eileen Cipriano, Maureen Cipriano (Matt Johnson), and Noreen Cipriano (Bryan Woods), Sharon Morrison (George), Landon Morrison, Sharee Morrison, and David H.B. Clark (Tara). He was preceded in death by his father, aunt Kathleen Cipriano, and his grandparents, Paul and Arlene Schwarz and Bridget Williams of Kenmare, Co. Kerry, Ireland.
A private funeral service and internment to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery is planned for a later date as cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials can be made in his name to the Quincy Humane Society and the American Heart Association. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
I am so sorry for your loss!! I worked with Jerry at the hospital for years. His parents worked at the Elkton Hotel with my boyfriend Roy Putnam too. Jerry was a good guy!!! I will be praying for all of you!!

So sorry for your loss! I remember Gerry Lee in his high school years. Jerry was so proud of him and his accomplishments. We talked about his golf talents a lot. I will pray and may God bless Gerry and his family.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Jerry. I worked side by side with him at St. John’s Hospital. He was a great partner in crime at work and I will think of him often. God bless him and all of his family and friends. Eric Grider
