Gary J. Brink

Gary J. Brink, age 69, of Quincy died on September 29, 2025 at his home in Quincy. Gary was born June 7, 1956, in Quincy, a son of Herb and Wanda (Fuller) Brink.

He was a graduate of Christian Brothers High School in Quincy, and as a teen began working at Quincy’s Kroger Store. Gary continued working at Kroger’s for many years, until he began his 20 years plus employment with Wis-Pak from where he retired.

He was a member of St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. Gary’s four granddaughters were his pride and joy. He was an avid University of Illinois football fan and loved watching them and Chicago Cubs baseball.

Survivors include his daughter, Beth Hammer and her husband Mike of Quincy. Four granddaughters, Leah, Lydia, Lucy, and Lorelei Hammer of Quincy.

His brothers and sisters, Jane Luke of Broadview Heights, OH; Ted Brink (Jan) of Omaha, NE; Kay Harland (Denny) of Altona, IL; Carol Hoffman and her husband Steve of Stoutsville, MO; Jim Brink of Quincy; Ruth Siebers (Ted) of Quincy and Dan Brink (Laurie) all of Quincy.

Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will held on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church.

There is no visitation but family and friends are invited to the funeral mass. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Church. Service arrangements are with Duker & Haugh Funeral Home.
