Frederick W. ‘Bill’ Heckenkamp, age 90, of Quincy, died on Sunday, February 8, 2026 in the Quincy Healthcare and Senior Living. He was born on November 6, 1935 in Quincy, the son of Frederick W. & Norma (Bruenger) Heckenkamp. He married Joan Herrington on August 15, 1958. She survives.

Bill received his Bachelors of Science at the University of Illinois. Later he returned and received his Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Bill worked at Gardner Denver in Quincy, starting with the company in 1957. In 1975 he and his family moved to California, where Bill worked as the Chief Engineer for Ameron.

In addition to his wife, Bill is also survived by:
CHILDREN: Lee Anne Jessup, Frederick ‘Will’ Heckenkamp (Lorrie Ann), Leslie Susan Fitzgerald and John Heckenkamp (Kimberly Ann).
Numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives survive.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson and siblings: Joan Koetters along with her husband Jerry and Gene Heckenkamp.

A Catholic Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 1:00 PM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home from 12:30PM until the time of the services at 1:00. Memorials may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
