Doris T. Hildebrand

Doris T. Hildebrand, age 88, of Quincy, died on September 4, 2026, at Sunset Home. She was born on February 9, 1938, in Quincy, the daughter of Virgil and Bertha (Klauser) Dietrich.

She married James M. Hildebrand on May 10, 1958, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on March 28, 1994. She attended St. Anthony’s Grade School and was a Class of 1955 graduate of Quincy Notre Dame. Doris was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish.

Doris was employed at Spiegel Catalog for 20 years followed by her employment as a secretary and was in charge of payroll for Huck Store Fixture for over 20 years until her retirement.

She was a member of the Quincy Boat Club, South Side Boat Club, Blessed Sacrament Altar Society, and several social groups. Doris enjoyed dancing, attending plays and ball games, helping others, and simply loving life.Doris was a second mom to her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed spending all the holidays and special occasions celebrating with her family.

She is survived by her siblings: Connie Schutte of Payson, IL and Dennis (Bobbie) Dietrich of Plainville, IL. Her sister-in-law Joan Dietrich of Quincy.

Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives, and very special friends including Norma Weiman and Illa Inman

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two brothers Gene Dietrich and Kenneth Dietrich.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Duker and Haugh Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to Knights of Columbus TV Mass.

    Doris was such a nice person to me and my family. She will be missed. Rest in peace.

    We are so very sorry for your loss! I remember spending time at Doris and Jim’s house on Melview Road as a child with my mom and dad, Marge and Max Kinne. Doris had a collection of dolls and they had a player piano.
