Dolly Pearl Seward
Dolly Pearl Seward, age 97, of Quincy, died on Friday, May 9, 2025 in Blessing Hospital. She was born on January 27, 1928 in Quincy, IL the daughter of Alfred Seward and Marie (Brown) Seward Justice. Dolly had attended the Jacksonville School of the Deaf. Dolly was born deaf but was always a happy person with a mind of her own. She loved attending the Adult Day Care at the Quincy Senior Center until its closing in 2019. She loved the caregivers there and socializing with the people. She also greatly loved the caregivers that came to her home. She also loved animals, especially cats and dogs. Her favorite TV shows were Lassie and the Golden Girls.
She is survived by her cousin Katie Nebe and her cousin Donald L. Altgilbers with whom she lived with for 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her grandparents that raised her, Fred and Lizzie Seward along with her cousin Alberta Stoner.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025 at 1:00 PM in Durham Cemetery, Durham, Missouri. There is no visitation but friends are invited to the graveside services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Quincy Senior Center Meals on Wheels. A Celebration of her Life will take place at a later date at the Senior Center. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Dolly was a very sweet lady and left alot of good memories with so many of her friends and family. She will be greatly missed.
