David Lee Paul Jansen

David Lee Paul Jansen, age 76, of Quincy, died on Friday, November 3, 2023, in Blessing Hospital. He was born on May 18, 1947, in Quincy, the son of Alvin Jansen and Mary Mock Jansen.

David graduated from Christian Brothers High School in 1965 and later attended and graduated from SIU-Carbondale. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

David was a former member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5129. He was employed by Connor Company Plumbing Wholesalers and Capital City Management of Springfield, IL. David very much enjoyed reading and spending time with his family. He also loved to travel and was always ready to go!

David is survived by:
ONE DAUGHTER: Shayna Jansen of Austin, TX.
ONE GRANDDAUGHTER: Eadeoun Jansen of Austin, TX.
A SISTER: Marcia (Rick) Roulette of Muskego, WI.
A SISTER-IN-LAW: Bonnie Jansen of Quincy, IL.
BROTHERS-IN-LAW: Tom Alford and Earl Huber of Quincy, IL.

Numerous nieces, nephews and friends are also survived by David.

David was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Joyce Alford, Georgeann Huber, and Maxine Vonderheide, and by brothers Stanley and Michael Jansen.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside services with military honors will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Illinois Veterans Home Activity Fund, Gift of Hope Organ and Tissue Donor Network or American Diabetes Association. Service arrangements are with Duker & Haugh Funeral Home.

    I’m so sorry for your loss. Dave was a sweet, kind wonderful guy and neighbor..I loved visiting with him…RIP Dave
