Darlene (Harvel) Logan
Darlene (Harvel) Logan, 94, of Maple Hill, NC passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026.
She was born on April 25, 1931, in McHenry County Illinois to Lloyd and Emily (Hardesty) Harvel.
She grew up on a farm in Dundee, now known as Raceway Woods. She graduated from Dundee High School class in 1949. Darlene spent most of her life in Illinois, residing in Dundee, Carpentersville, McHenry, and Warsaw. On August 15, 1986, she married Charles Logan of Shelbina, Missouri.
Darlene was a lifetime member of the American Legion, she worked for many years as a waitress, was an avid gardener, enjoyed blue grass music, watching basketball and cheering for the Chicago Cubs. Everyone knew her favorite color was purple.
She and Charley had many years of traveling, camping, fishing, and boating with the kids and grandkids on the Chain of Lakes.
Darlene leaves behind her children: Thomas Zimmerman (with Colleen) in Elgin, IL; Randall Zimmerman in High Point, NC; Melody Harris in Maple Hill, NC; Michael Zimmerman (with Elaine) in Lake Zurich, IL; Douglas Zimmerman in Illinois; and Scott Zimmerman (with Theresa) in Jacksonville, NC. And her sister Dee of Princeton, Il. She is survived by fourteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Emily, her husband Charles, brothers Donald, Douglas, Daniel, Dennis, Dale, and David, sisters Dawn Lowery and Donna Spencer, her infant daughter Marie, granddaughter Sherry, great-grandson Jacob, and great-granddaughter Olivia.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Quincy Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 from 10:00 AM until the time of services in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home. Service arrangements are with the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home.
