Clara Rosemary Cary, age 80, of O’Fallon, MO and formerly of Quincy, died on December 22, 2025. She was born on September 25, 1945, in Quincy, the daughter of Roy and Virginia (Hastings) Parsons. She married Donald L. Cary on October 22, 1965, in Quincy. He preceded her in death on December 27, 2008.
Clara was employed at the Illinois Veteran’s Home for 26 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and a physical therapist assistant. She retired from the Home to care for Don before his passing.
She enjoyed playing bingo and was talented at crocheting. Clara often crocheted baby blankets.
Clara is survived by her children, Dawn Pieter (Tim) of Jefferson City, MO; Samantha McWay (Terry) of Farmington, MO; Melissa Baldwin of O’Fallon, MO.
Eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Bastean of Jefferson City, MO also survive.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, and son Michael Cary and his wife, Astrid.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Quincy Memorial Park Mausoleum. There is no visitation, but friends and family are invited to the graveside services. Memorials are suggested to K-9’s for Vets.
