    He was more than a Scout master to so many of us. He taught us skills, patience, and what it means to show up for others, and those lessons have stayed with me long after my time in Troop 51. He made a lasting difference in my life, and I’m grateful for him. My thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time. 🫡

    Cathy: I am so sorry to hear about Cecil’s passing. When you called me Monday night and gave me the news I just couldn’t believe it.
    For those that do not know me: Cecil and I served in the Navy together aboard the USS Forrestal CVA-59. Cecil was about 1 1/2 older than me and had been on the ship longer. How we met I can’t remember but we became best of friends. He helped me on my first deployment giving me tips on how to navigate around that huge ship. He was like my older brother. He called me a few months back, out of the blue, and we talked about our Navy days and felt like we were young men again. We spent many a days on Liberty across many sights overseas. We laughed because some of our escapades were not for public discussion. Those memories I will hold dear to my heart. No man could ask for a better friend and Shipmate.

    Cathy: May our LORD hold you and your family in HIS arms and know that Cecil is up there looking down at all of us.

    And Cecil: As we say in the Navy: “May you have fair winds and following seas” Rest in peace my dear friend.
    “You are Relieved & We have the Watch” SEMPER FORTiS.

    GOD BLESS
    //Steve
