Carter Michael Scott

Carter Michael Scott, age 22, of Paloma, died on June 1, 2026 in Springfield, IL. He was born on July 30, 2003 in Quincy, the son of Michael ‘Todd’ and April (Heming) Scott. Carter had attended Liberty High School and was a graduate of Quincy High School. He had worked for WIS-PAK in Quincy but was very proud of the fact that he had been recently hired by DOT Foods as a driver.

Everyone who knew Carter loved him dearly. He could make anyone laugh, whether it be cracking jokes, quoting SpongeBob, or impersonating Trump. Carter had a big heart and would do anything for anyone. He was a friend to all and an amazing Uncle CarCar to his nieces and nephew. When he wasn’t spending time with family, he was hanging out with his many friends. Their favorite things to do together were riding their RZRs, golfing, playing pool, or just enjoying each other’s company making memories to last a lifetime. Carter was known to always live life without any fears.

He was loved by so many people. In honor of his life and unforgettable personality, we gather to celebrate the lasting memories and countless lives he touched. #livelikecarter

In addition to his parents, Todd and April, Carter is also survived by:
Sisters: Madison Flores (Jose) and Gracie Peter (Logan).
Nieces and Nephews: Dillon Flores; Lincoln and Leo Peter, who lovingly referred to Carter as ‘Uncle CarCar’ and an additional one on the way.
Maternal grandparents: Chuck and Jan Heming
Aunt and Uncles: Stephanie Factor (Josh), Mark Scott (Ann) and Jason Scott (Amy)
Cousins, other relatives and so many friends also survive.

At just 22 years old, you lived more life than many do in a lifetime. Your adventurous spirit, contagious energy, and fearless approach to life made every moment with you unforgettable. Whether you were zipping around the farm on your Razor, enjoying your favorite heavy metal music, or simply being the life of the party, you brought excitement and joy wherever you went.

But beyond the laughter and fun was a compassionate heart. You cared deeply about the people around you, and your kindness, humor, and genuine love for family and friends left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know you.

We loved you for your energy, your zest for life, your ability to make us laugh, and your willingness to live every day to the fullest. Though your time with us was far too short, the memories you created and the love you shared will stay with us forever.

You will be deeply missed, always loved, and never forgotten. Aunt Amy Uncle Jason Tyler Sadie and Jacob
