Carol Vogel

Carol E. Vogel, age 86, of Quincy, died on Friday, January 17, 2025 in Blessing Hospital. She was born on March 18, 1938 at home in Mendon Township, Adams County, Illinois. She was the daughter of Raymond William and Elizabeth (Tieken) Linnenburger. She married Carl W. Vogel on October 22, 1959. He preceded her in death on January 15, 1991. Carol was a bookkeeper in the Quincy area for many years, most recently for American Builders Supply. At the age of 86 she was still proudly working full time until a few short months ago. Carol was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.
Carol greatly enjoyed and was very talented at cross-stitch. She was proud to have made quilts and numerous other crafts for her family. Carol enjoyed the time she spent as a bartender at the K of C Sports bar. However, her family was her delight and she loved all the times the family came over to the house.
Carol is survived by:
FOUR CHILDREN: Julie Simons (Scott), Joyce Vogel, Jeanette Huebotter (Mark), and Carl W. Vogel II
GRANDCHILDREN: Zachary Simons (Kristen), Grant Simons, Dax Simons, Sean Huebotter (Lauren) and Taylor Brann (Chris)
GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Norah, Cooper and Wesley.
SIBLINGS: Janet Syrcle (Ron); David Linnenburger (Sandy) and Ruth Betz.
Numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
In addition to her husband, Carol was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law: Gene Betz.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at 10:00 in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Peter Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Leader Dogs for the Blind or to the Blessing Foundation Caring Club Fund. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
So sorry to see this. Rick and I had some good times with Carol. May she rest in peace as she is reunited with Carl.
Remember living next to Marian and Charlie on Adams Street. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Carol worked with us at ABNG after we acquired Wyatt Accounting. Carol was a great help in the transition. She worked well with people and will be remembered by me with a fondness in my heart. I am sorry I won’t be able to attend the services.
