Carol Douglas

Carol Sue Douglas, age 74, of Quincy, IL passed away peacefully August 13, 2026 in her home surrounded by family.

Carol was born January 8, 1952 to Harold N. Douglas Sr. and Consuella “Connie” Burnett Douglas.

Carol was employed for more than 25 years at the Celotex Corporation until plant closure in 2002. Later she was employed at St. Vincent Nursing Home until her retirement.

Most recently she was an attendant at Lucky Streak Lounge where she enjoyed fun times with her “Lucky Gang.”

Carol was a loving and generous person with a huge heart and a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved shopping and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by a daughter, Colette M. Douglas of Quincy.
Two grandsons: Enitan E. Odunfa-Jones and Sionee I. Odunfa-Jones of Quincy.
Two sisters: JoAnn Hickman of Quincy and Kay D. Douglas of Springfield, IL.
Two nephews: James L. Douglas of Quincy and Torace L. Douglas of St. Louis, MO.
Two nieces: Kamisha S. Benton of Springfield, IL and Lisa A. Mack of Jacksonville, FL.

She is also survived by a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins, friends, and her “ride or die” friends, Susie Clay and Sandra Bassett.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Steven H. Douglas in infancy and Harold N. Douglas, Jr.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center at 405 Vermont, Quincy, IL 62301. Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice. Service arrangements are with the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home.

    CAROL…FLY HIGH. YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT TIME WHEN, I WAS A GUEST AT YOUR HOME FOR A BBQ DINNER THAT YOU LOVINGLY PREPARED FOR MY NEPHEW FRED G, AND SOME MORE OF US THAT DAY. YOU REALLY DID COOK!!!
