Bruce Mangold
Bruce E. Mangold, age 75, of Quincy, died on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Blessing Hospital. He was born on July 2, 1951, in Quincy, the son of Marvin and Thelma (Gross) Mangold. He married Donna M. Frese on September 1, 1972, at St. Francis Catholic Church, she survives.
He was a Class of 1969 Quincy High School graduate. Bruce served his county in the U.S. Navy as an engineer on the USS Decatur and USS Esteem. He was of Christian faith.
Bruce worked as a route salesman for Interstate Breads before his retirement.
He enjoyed being outdoors where he would fish, hunt and look for mushrooms. Bruce was a competitive Euchre player and often played at the North End Liquor Mart. He loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, including traveling for baseball and other activities. He loved listening to music and was especially talented at remembering lyrics.
In addition to his beloved wife Donna, he is survived by his daughter: Molly (Tyler) Frese.
Grandchildren: Avery and Austin Frese.
Siblings: Janis Brink, Steve (Sherry) Mangold, Sandy (Jeff) Gibson all of Quincy.
Brothers and sisters-in-law: Larry Bartels, Debbie (Mike) Maas, and Clinton (Bobette) Frese. Many nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marva Bartels, father-in-law Gerald Frese and mother-in-law Esther Frese.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Sunset Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Payson V.F.W. Post 640 and the U.S. Navy Funeral Honors Detail.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Roman Catholic Cemetery Association of Quincy, Blessing Hospice, or donor’s choice.
Service arrangements are with the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home.
