Betty Jean Hibbert

Betty Jean Hibbert age 78, of Quincy died on Saturday, March 4, 2023, in St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL. Betty was born August 23, 1944, in Quincy, a daughter of James and Etta Mae (Knowles) Coulson.

She married Richard L. Hibbert on May 27, 1962, and he survives.

Betty had worked in dry cleaning and laundry services in Quincy including Ship Shape, Big Bee Dry Cleaning and Concord Cleaners from where she retired.
Betty loved to shop and attend craft shows, but most important to her was time spent with her family and her dog Max.

In addition to husband Richard, survivors include her children:
Deborah (Jeffrey) Wemhoener; Richard (Laurie) Hibbert and Edward (Debbie) Hibbert all of Quincy.
Grandchildren: Shanna (fiancé Jonathan Dowdy) Wemhoener of Quincy; Abi (Tim Nguyen) Hibbert of Corvallis, OR; Cassie (Jacob Tisdale) Hibbert of Moline, IL: Rebecca Hibbert; Mathew Hibbert and Emily Hibbert all of Quincy.
Six great grandchildren, Step-Grandchildren Dustin (Jennifer) Tournear; Derick (Kayla) Tournear and Daniel Tournear. One step-Great granddaughter, three sisters, Ruth Wellman of Quincy; Judy Hibbert of Fowler, IL and Henrietta (Wayne) Gallaher and many special nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers and sisters, James Coulson, Kenneth Coulson, Shirley Coulson, Mary Ann Klossing, and Linda Fusselman.

Funeral services are at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 12:00 noon until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the American Red Cross.
