Arlene B. Goehl

Arlene B. Goehl, age 84, of Fowler, IL, died on Thursday, April 3, 2025 in Blessing Hospital. She was born on October 20, 1940 in Quincy, the daughter of Arthur and Freda (Maas) Westhaus. She married Lloyd Goehl on June 18, 1960 in St. Joseph Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on January 20, 2016.

Arlene had been the manager of the airport restaurant and had also worked at the Ritz restaurant. She then later retired from Walgreens after almost twenty years of service.

Arlene was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She played on softball and bowling teams and also enjoyed playing cards. She loved being with family for Sunday dinners and family vacations. She also enjoyed attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s many activities.

Arlene is survived by: her three daughters: Barb (Danny) Woodyard, Pam (Mike) Pillars, and Amy Goehl.
GRANDCHILDREN: Brandy (Kevin) Kasparie, Chuck (Nici) Woodyard, Danielle (Austin) Buss, Chad (Jennifer) Pillars, Brandon (Leann) Pillars and Lexi Goehl.
GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Allison and Annika Kasparie; Haley, Logan, Colin, Charlotte and Lincoln Woodyard; Noah, Ella and Jordan Buss; Shane Pillars; Brayden and Morgan Pillars; and Oaklynn Dolbeare.
BROTHER: Jerry (Cheryl) Westhaus.
BROTHER-IN-LAW: Roy Vonderheide
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

In addition to her husband, Arlene was also preceded in death by her son Mark Goehl, her parents, and Siblings: Joan Vonderheide and Ronald Westhaus.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at 9:45 in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Mark Lloyd Goehl Scholarship at John Wood Community College or to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

    We are so sorry for your loss. We were out of town so unable to make it to the funeral. Barb, Pam, Amy and your families please know that our prayers are with you and hopefully will help carry you through these difficult times.
