Anthony R. ‘Tony’ Humphrey, AKA ‘Turk a Lurk’

Anthony R. ‘Tony’ Humphrey, AKA ‘Turk a Lurk’ age 72, of Quincy, died on Saturday, March 30, 2024 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born on February 16, 1952 in Quincy the son of Archie and Roberta (Dade) Humphrey. He married Brenda Buckner Gay. She preceded him in death.

Tony worked for the City of Quincy in the Sanitation Department. He had also worked for Merkel’s Metal and had worked at Blessing Hospital in the Housekeeping Department.

He was a member of the Cathedral of Worship.

Tony is survived by:
CHILDREN: Marla Bonner, Terrance Hickman, Tanela ‘Tee’ (Jesse) Long, Antonio ‘Tono’ Humphrey, Dawn Fletcher and Ashley Friedlein, and stepchildren Shawn Buckner, Resha Brock.
SIBLINGS: Phyllis Bowen, Danny (Virginia) Humphrey, Darrell (Patricia) Humphrey, Tammy (Gordon) Fountain and Carlotta Rice.
Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

He was preceded in death by his father Archie Humphrey and mother Roberta Humphrey, and also siblings: Willard Humphrey, Edward Humphrey, Dean Humphrey and Linda Curry.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Cathedral of Worship. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 12:00 Noon until the time of the services at 1:00 PM at the Cathedral. Memorials may be made to help with expenses. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
