Ann M. Altgilbers
Ann M. Altgilbers age 69, of Quincy passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, in Blessing Hospital. She was born in Quincy, IL on July 3, 1956, a daughter of Wilfred T. and Kathleen C. “Katie” (Kahs) Altgilbers.
Ann was a Pharmacy Tech, most recently employed at the former Shopko Pharmacy. She began working as a teenager at Earel & Buss Drug Store, and from there she went to Quincy Medical Group’s Pharmacy. She was a 1974 graduate of Notre Dame High School.
She was a lifelong member of St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. Ann devoted her life to her family. She was a natural caregiver, always taking care of her parents, her siblings, nieces and nephews as needed. She was known for her baking, and the joy she had celebrating Christmas and holidays.
Survivors include her sisters and brothers: Jean Gore and her husband Gordon of Yukon, OK, Karen Brothers of Quincy, John Altgilbers and his wife Angie of St. Louis, MO and Tony Altgilbers also of Quincy.
Her beloved nieces and nephews: Lindsay Brothers, Amanda Behnen and her husband Jeremy, Frank Altgilbers, Creighton Gore and Seneca Gore.
Great nieces and nephews: Camron Gore, Heaton Brothers and a great niece or nephew due in August.
One remaining special aunt: Carlene Wolf also survives along with numerous cousins. Ann was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be Monday, June 1, 2026 beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Duker & Haugh Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Bob Barko officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visitation Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Duker & Haugh. Memorials are suggested to the Ladies of Charity.
My deepest sympathy to Ann’s family. I have known Ann for years and she was a wonderful lady. Prayers of peace and comfort to all.

Ann, you were such a sweet friend, and a private, quiet person. Long friendship since grade school, and I will miss you. Glad you didn’t suffer long, and I’m sure you are in Heaven now with your family. Tom and I pray for you and your family.

Ann was in my class in high school.. She was always very kind to me.
I think she used to work at the bakery downtown and knew I liked cream horns so she’d always kid me about it. I have fond memories of her.
She didn’t come to our 50 the reunion and I did miss seeing her.

Sorry to hear of Ann passing. I worked with her at Quincy Clinic all the way to QMG. She was a wonderful person and I know she will be greatly missed. My prayers to all of the family.
