Althea Maurine Willing

Althea ‘Maurine’ Willing, age 99, of Quincy, died on Friday, March 15, 2024 in Blessing Hospital. She was born on March 9, 1925 in Loraine, IL the daughter of William and Joy (Meyer) Shoemaker. She married Louis Willing on February 16, 1946. He preceded her in death on September 28, 1990.

Maurine loved to dance and in later years went dancing every Friday night with her long time companion Earl Page at the Eagles.

She is survived by:
CHILDREN: Richard Willing of Quincy and Linda Lubbring also of Quincy.
GRANDCHILDREN: Chris Lubbring (Kim) and Melissa ‘Missy’ Lubbring-Stratman
GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Chloe and Will Lubbring and Gavin Masters.
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

In addition to her husband, Maurine was also preceded in death by a brother Maurice Shoemaker, her longtime companion Earl Page, and a son-in-law James Lubbring.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Adams County Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
