Allan Richard Krogman, age 84, of Quincy, Illinois, passed away on September 21, 2026.

Allan was born September 7th, 1942, to Ferdinand Krogman and Florine Metzger Krogman. He attended St. John’s Grade School and later Christian Brothers/Quincy Notre Dame High School, where he distinguished himself as a talented athlete. Allan lettered all four years on the varsity basketball team and also enjoyed playing baseball and softball.

From 1963 to 1969, Allan proudly served as a member of the Army National Guard during the Vietnam War era.

Allan spent 40 years working at Electric Wheel and Titan Wheel in Quincy. Never one to shy away from hard work, he also worked part-time for several years with Allied Van Lines as a mover. That willingness to lend his strength extended far beyond his work. Allan was a friend to many and was always ready to help family, friends, and neighbors—especially when there was some heavy lifting to be done.

One of the most important moments in Allan’s life came when he met Krethen Bumpass at The Barn, a dance club in Quincy. The two later married at St. John’s Catholic Church in Quincy and built a life together centered around their family.

Allan loved being on the water. He was an avid boater who enjoyed boating on the Mississippi River and spending time with his family at the Lake of the Ozarks. Family vacations and days on the water provided many of the memories he treasured most.

Allan understood how quickly the years pass and believed life was meant to be enjoyed. He often summed up that philosophy with a saying his family will always remember:

“Man, time flies, so just have fun.”

Allan is survived by his wife, Krethen Bumpass Krogman; their three children, Mark (Julie) Krogman; Monte (Laurie) Krogman; and Robin (Mark) Meier;
Eight Grandchildren; Alexis (Conner) Kelty, Brie Krogman; Stone Krogman, Chase (Brooke) Krogman, Gage Krogman; Cruz (Kendra) Meier, Davin Meier, Mitchell Meier; and five great-grandchildren Gwen and Grant Kelty; Augustine and Ophelia Krogman, expectant baby girl Meier. And a Sister Dorothy Doellman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ferdinand and Florine Metzger Krogman; his brother, Robert Krogman; and his sisters, Francis (Joseph) Musolino and Helen (Paddle) Maddox.

Allan will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Whether he was working, helping someone who needed an extra hand, spending time with family, Allan believed in making the most of the time he was given. His generosity, work ethic, friendship, and love of family will live on through those who knew and loved him.

And in the words Allan himself lived by: “Man, time flies, so just have fun.”

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 9:30 AM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 AM at Blessed Sacrament Parish. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 4:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Quincy Notre Dame.
