Peggy L. Cole, age 81, of Quincy died on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Quincy Family and Senior Living Center. Peggy was born on August 29, 1943, a daughter of Marion Francis and Inez (Hibbert) Tournear. She married Ernest L. Cole in Quincy on August 12, 1960. Ernie preceded her in death on January 4, 2013.
Peggy was employed through Walmart as an associate. She was of the Christian faith. Some of Peggy’s favorite activities included crocheting, collecting dolls, and making repairs to dolls.
She is survived by her children: Jonathan ‘Jon’ Cole of Quincy; Nanetta Bridgeman of Florida; grandson, James ‘Jamie’ Mills of Florida. One great granddaughter; one sister, Janet Davis; and two nieces.
In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters; Kathryn DeWitt, Bonnie Tournear, and Barbara Bornman, and a brother: Ronald Tournear.
Private graveside services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Camp Point, IL. Memorials are suggested to the charity of donor’s choice. Service arrangements are with the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home.
