Zolavon “Vonnie” Graff

Zolavon “Vonnie” Graff, age 95, of The Arbors at Adams Pointe, died on Saturday, July 14, 2018 in The Arbors. She was born on August 14, 1922 in Liberty, Illinois the daughter of Wesley and Emma (Winget) Phillips She married Floyd “Fritz” Graff on September 22, 1940 in Palmyra, MO. He preceded her in death on April 27, 1999.

Vonnie was a nurse for the Illinois Veterans Home for many years until her retirement. After retirement, Vonnie worked as a courier for Liberty Bank. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Liberty.

Vonnie liked collecting cardinals, shooting guns and caring for her family and friends. She also enjoyed planting flowers and caring for her dog, ‘Mia’.

She is survived by:
TWO GRANDSONS: Wesley Graff and his wife Delena of Payson and Travis Graff and his wife Adrienne of Quincy.
FIVE GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Cody Benjamin, Samantha Benjamin, Alexis Brewer, Kaleb Leffert and Mason Graff.
TWO GREAT-GREAT GRANDCHILDREN: Maddison Powers and Harper Logsdon.
Numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends including special friends: Diane and Kevin McIntosh also survive.

In addition to her husband, Vonnie was also preceded in death by her parents, her son Robert ‘Gene’ Graff, and siblings: Clarence “Dub” Phillips; Evelyn Phillips; Robert “Bob” Phillips, Bud Phillips and Ronnie Phillips in infancy.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 11:00 Am in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Quincy Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to The Arbors at Adams Pointe.

    Vonnie I will miss you. Wes and Travis your grandma was a wonderful lady. I loved and enjoyed taking care of her, she will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you boys and your family.

    My deepest condolences to the Graff family. Vonnie was such a blessing to us all at Adams Pointe. We were blessed to get to know her and to care for her in her final days.
