Wilma Taylor, age 89, of the Illinois Veterans Home, formerly of Avon, died on Monday, January 17, 2022 in the Home. She was born on March 21, 1932 in Abingdon, IL. She married Joseph S. Taylor on January 9, 1954. He preceded her in death in the year 2000.

Wilma was a nurse’s aide at the avon nursing home for 17 years.

She was of the Methodist Faith.

She is survived by ONE SON: Gary Lee Taylor and his wife Becky of Avon.
THREE GRANDCHILDREN: Sierra Voyles, Arthur Taylor and his wife Angela; and Daniel Taylor and his wife Jamie.
12 great-grandchidren and 1 great-great-grandchild, a brother Leo Landon, nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

In addition to her husband, Wilma was also preceded in death by a daughter Crystal Lynn Taylor and three brothers: Eugene, Jay, and Dennis Landon and a sister: Carol McDade.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Sunset Cemetery of the Illinois Veterans Home. There is no visiation but friends are invited to the graveside services. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
