Wilma J. Lantz

Wilma J. Lantz, age 93, of 1527 Park Avenue, Quincy, died on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at 5:00 a.m. in her home. She was born on July 11, 1916 in Marblehead, Illinois, a daughter of Vincent and Bessie (Hawkins) Morgan. She married Harold Heck in 1936. He preceded her in death. She later married Lloyd E. Lantz on July 21, 1961. He preceded her in death in 1991.

Wilma was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Quincy.

Wilma worked at the shoe factory in Quincy. She moved to Colorado and worked at the Air Force Base in Colorado. Upon her return to Quincy, she worked at Quincy College for a number of years.
Wilma was a member of the Eagles Club. She was a volunteer at the Illinois Veteran’s Home for many years.

SURVIVORS INCLUDE:
ONE DAUGHTER: Joyce Keppner and her husband Tom of Quincy;
ONE STEP-DAUGHTER: Marsha Courtney and her husband Wes of Quincy;
TWO STEP-SONS: Roger Lantz and his wife Martha, and Terry Lantz and his wife Carolyn all of Quincy;
ONE SISTER: Wanda Gilbert of Wisconsin;
EIGHTEEN-GRANDCHILDREN; Brenda Dirkes, Butch Morrison, Mike Morrison, Steve Keppner, Bill Keppner, Annette White, Paul Cunningham, Tim Cunningham, Tony Cunningham, Rodney Cunningham, Terry Cunningham, Lisa Niesen, Tina Niesen, Debbie, Roger Lantz, Amy, Wes Courtney, Teresa.
THIRTY FIVE- GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN.
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, one son, one daughter, three brothers, and six sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 11, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by Rev. Connie Jenkins. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Blessing Foundation for HOSPICE, or the Salvation Army Angel Tree Fund.

    She was one spunky lady. She will be missed by many. Her love for family and friends showed in all she did. Our thoughts and prayers go with your family.
