William Troy James

William “Troy” James, age 53, of Quincy, died on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, in Blessing Hospital. Troy was born on July 1, 1968, in Quincy at the old St. Mary’s Hospital to William Russell and Helen “Kay” (Krigbaum) James.

Troy was a 1987 graduate of Quincy Senior High School. He previously worked at the Hardees restaurant on Broadway in Quincy. He enjoyed being a part of the Special Olympics as well as going bowling and playing basketball. Troy was also an avid sports statistics bookkeeper and loved to root for the St. Louis Cardinals.

Survivors include his sister, Lisa Marie James; his niece, Kayla Edgecomb; two aunts, Jeanie Felker (David) and JoAnn Lair (Robert); and his lifelong friends, Barbara Miller and her children, Mike Bowers and Michelle Sidebottom.

Troy was preceded in death by his parents; his uncle, Walter Lee “Billy” Krigbaum; his aunt, Betty Kasch and his best friend, Robert Sapp.

Cremation has been accorded to Troy. Private family services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in Quincy Memorial Park. Arrangements are in the care of the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home.

    My deepest condolences to the family. I always enjoyed visiting with Willilam when I would see your parents, May God provide you comfort in the days and weeks ahead and may your many wonderful memories bring you comfort.
