William Brink
William L. Brink, age 79, of 1721 Willer Dr. North, died on Thursday, November 6, 2008 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on July 11, 1929 in Quincy, the son of Herbert & Agnes (Waterkotte) Brink. He married Katharine Domzalski on December 21, 1950 in St. Francis Catholic Church. She survives. William was a Union Carpenter for Local 189 until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. William liked to fish and hunt. He also enjoyed painting and sketching and was a skilled woodworker. William was a lifelong Cub fan. His greatest enjoyment was the time spent with his grandchildren and family.

FIVE CHILDREN: Tom Brink of Indianapolis, IN; Mary Ellen Pfeifer and her husband Tony of Keokuk, IA; Linda Lipply and her husband Jon of Plymouth, IN; Jeanne Hill and her husband Mark of Quincy and Lori Nelson and her husband Andy also of Quincy.
ELEVEN GRANDCHILDREN: David Brink and his wife Megan; Todd Brink and his wife Ashlye; Carrie Brink and Melissa Brink; Megan Pfeifer, Shawn Chain, Eric Chain, Erin Vonder Haar and her husband Justin; Joel Hill; Brendan Nelson; Katelyn Nelson.
1 Great-grandchild: Jacob Brink
THREE SISTERS: Rita Koch; Mary Haistings and Bertie Freiburg.
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Herbert Brink, Jr. and a sister Ginny Bonness.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 9:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 9:30 in St. Francis Catholic Church by Rev. James Wheeler. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 4-7 PM with a Parish Prayer service at 7:00. Memorials may be made to St. Francis School.
I am so very sorry for your loss. My grandfather was Albert Everett Brink also from Chicago. We may very well be cousins. I also have an uncle named Herbert. PLease contact me when you feel up to it.
We just heard about Mr. Brink’s passing earlier today. Jeanne, Alan always thought your dad was super nice and we are sorry for the loss you and your family are feeling.
