Wilfred A. “Bill” Vogelpohl, Jr.

Wilfred A. “Bill” Vogelpohl, Jr. age 45 of 611 Country Club Heights Apt. 232 Quincy died on Monday, December 24, 2013 at 5:30 p.m. in his home. Bill was born October 27, 1968 in Quincy, a son of Wilfred A. and Kathleen C. (Wilson) Vogelpohl.

Bill had worked at Community Rehabilitation Services through Transitions and he had worked at Spring Lake Country Club as part of the kitchen staff.

He was a graduate of St. Francis Solanus Grade School and a 1986 graduate of Quincy High School.
Bill was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.

He was a Civil War enthusiast. Bill was a comic book collector and he liked playing video games and watching movies. Bill enjoyed his time with his family and his pets too.

Survivors include his siblings:
Brothers, Tom Vogelpohl of Georgia, Mark Vogelpohl and his wife Rita of Pittsfield, IL, Ken Vogelpohl, Brian Vogelpohl both of Quincy; and his sister, Kathy Sumpter and her husband Harry of Quincy;
3 nephews and a niece, Kenny R. Vogelpohl, Sara & Derek Vogelpohl, and Cory Sumpter also survive.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Jim, Jeffrey and Ronald; a sister, Evelyn and a niece, Kayla.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 30, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. in St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church by Rev. Tom Shaughnessy, O.F.M. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Diabetes Association or to St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church.
