Wayne J. Obert

Wayne J. Obert, age 58, of Quincy, died peacefully in his home on Friday, October 29, 2021. He was born on July 12, 1963 in Quincy the son of Leroy and Dolores (Hugenberg) Obert. He married Laura Hagman on May 13, 1989. She survives. Wayne worked for the Sunbeam Bread Co. for many years. He was of the Catholic Faith.

Wayne loved his annual golf trip with his buddies to Myrtle Beach. He enjoyed his fantasy baseball league and watching the St. Louis Cardinals with his father.
He formerly was an avid bowler. He also enjoyed reading, especially Westerns.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by:
HIS PARENTS: Leroy and Dolores Obert
HIS CHILDREN: Lexi Obert and Nicole Obert.
SIBLINGS: Kevin Obert, Sr., Ed Obert, Vicky Genenbacher (Bill), Andy Obert (Melissa) and Leanne Knorr (Cory).
SISTER-IN-LAW: Tracy Hagman
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Wayne was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward and Edith Obert and Benjamin and Florence Hugenberg and a brother in infancy, Anthony Obert.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 10:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the World Literacy Foundation.
